WHO ARE WE?

The Let's Get into Good Trouble (LGGT) Youth Leadership Conference is an annual event developed and facilitated by Community Youth Advance youth leaders. It's a clarion call for youth to take action and be the change they desire to see in the world. This conference is inspired by the late Senator John Lewis who encouraged us all to make "good trouble" by speaking up and speaking out to help our communities become more equitable, safe, and just for all mankind.

THE GOAL

The goal of  Let's Get into Good Trouble (LGGT) conference is to attract and inspire youth to be agents of change. This includes fostering self-advocacy, reflecting on individual contributions to society, and motivating youth to act upon observable issues in their communities. Youths learn valuable leadership skills in order.

CALLING ALL STUDENT LEADERS (GRADES 7TH - 12TH)

Each year, our conference provides an inspiring space for peers to come together to collaborate, plan, and problem-solve. We believe this work is critical to the health and strength of our community as well as the global community. Moreover, we have a fun time with lots of great food, prizes, games, and giveaways. This year's conference will be hosted at the Marriott Conference Center in Bethesda, MD. Transportation will be provided from several middle and high schools throughout Prince George's County.

Conference Attendee

"Today was great! Honestly, I did not want to come, but I am so, so glad that I did! I learned a lot… We got to pick up a lot of tools that we can use to take back to our schools and use in our community. It was overall a great experience for everyone."
